Take A Good Look

Not everyday do I come across an original cd that often features remixes of the compositions before the original versions in the track listing. Or, for that matter, quite as many remixes (5 of the 15 total tracks). Then again, Alyson’s “Take A Good Look” (PM Media) is a dance music CD, so I suppose anything goes. Alyson’s voice is provocative and the music driving. No surprise she was nominated as “Best New Dance Artist” at the 2005 International Dance Music Awards. The lyrical content is not incredibly compelling, but I cannot imagine anyone throwing this cd into their player to dissect it for deep meaning. It’s perfect for what it is. A great disc for you to get your groove on. Also available, a supplemental 5-track EP of the title track. – Jay Matsueda
